I did not want to be a SAHM.
I loved my firstborn and the thought of leaving him to go back to work was painful. But I LOVED my job and did it well. I had aspirations to continue to climb and progress in my career.
While I loved being at work, I hated that I only had a couple of hours to spend with my baby. There was never enough time to do all the things for all the people. And I would spend my work day thinking about how bad of a mom I was, which led me to feel torn and not fully engaged at work. At home, all the things I needed to get done would be racing in my mind so I couldn't even enjoy the little time I had with my son.
I would think, "I'm not good at home or at work!"
Once I learned the tools and frameworks to live a more fully present life as a mom, and applied my learnings at work and at home, things started to click. Life became calmer, I was more at peace, more confident. I started a new, much larger job when my boys were 3 & 1. I had two more promotions within 5 years, increasing my scope and earning potential.... All mom guilt FREE!
